Was
it safe to say she was disturbed?
These
moments were similar to those black-and-white twilight episodes she used to
watch when she was much younger, when she didn't live here yet. Disoriented and
embarrassed, betrayed, these words plagued her. He was supposed to be their leader,
a kind example of how a man should be. Abusing children did not quite fit into
the mold of a church leader, or the worshiper of any God. The look in his eyes
when he was holding her toes off the ground had been very calm. That's what
scared her the most. He lost his temper, yelled at her, hit her, and then held
her by the scruff of her shirt while discussing her as if she wasn't there.
There was no remorse in his eyes, just a look of indecision as to what he might
do to her next, like she was an inconvenience he had encountered.

DeleteThat's really creepy... It's scary how the dark side comes out in people we never expect to have it.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the bishop in my book is meeeeeean. It always surprises me when I'm writing this stuff that the words of my character come so easy. I wonder how Stephen King feels??? Thanks for stopping by!
